  • How can I acess my home computer from school using a computer and a flash drive?

    Computer Genius asked:

I can’t install anything on the school computers and I would like to be able to boot an app of some sort off my flash drive that enables me to access my home computer in a fashion similar to remote desktop so I can use all of my software that I have installed on my home computer during the extra free time in class. I believe the school has already disabled remote desktop so I will need something else that functions independently of that.

    Hi Guys and Gals,

Does anyone happen to know if there is a windows application out there which will automatically dial a VPN connection when you launch an RDP session?
I work on an I.T. help desk and we are looking into purchasing some new software in order to make life easier, we have maybe 100 separate VPN connections set up on our machines for customers sites and it becomes tedious having to connect and disconnect these when we need to Remote Desktop onto the customers server.
If anyone knows of an app that will automatically connect these VPN’s for us it would be a big help.
Currently using mRemote for the RDP’s.

    Thanks in advance

  • What’s your opinion with VNC, RealVNC, or any variation thereof?

What’s your opinion with VNC, RealVNC, or any variation thereof? I used different kinds of remote control software like Windows Remote Desktop, LogMeIn, GotoMyPC, NetOp, and I was not bothered by Windows Defender.

But when I started using RealVNC, Windows Defender is saying this has “unwanted behaviour.” That’s why I’m quite reluctant in using this remote control software.

    Would you recommend this program?

  • Mac to Windows Remote Desktop?

    SHAM Rock asked:

I’m sure this question has been asked a thousand times. I’m pretty tech savvy and have port forwarding and the whole shabang up to remote desktop my xp pro computer over the internet. I know how to do the same for my Mac using VNC. However, I frequently need to help Windows users while im on my mac. Is there any software that will work for Windows and Mac together for easy remote desktop? I know of CrossLoop but that is Windows only. Even LogMeIn or GoToMyPC is too confusing to setup for most of the people I have to help.
